Additional ringtones can be downloaded to the BlackBerry device using the BlackBerry Browser.
The BlackBerry HELP! web site includes a link to a web site that offers a variety of ringtones. The BlackBerry device must be running BlackBerry device software version 3.7 or later to access and download ringtones from this web site through the BlackBerry Browser.
  1. On your BlackBerry device, open the BlackBerry Browser.
  2. Go to http://mobile.blackberry.com.
  3. Under Helpful Websites, click Downloads.
  4. Under Personalization, click Free Ringtones.
  5. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  6. Click the ringtone to retrieve it.
  7. Check the Save as Ringtone and save the ringtone to the BlackBerry device.
The ringtones on the BlackBerry HELP! site are monotonic Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) files. The filenames for the ringtones have a .mid extension. The extension is displayed when you save the file to the BlackBerry device. You can perform a search for monotonic MIDI files using the Internet and download them to your BlackBerry device.
