Ah, what a great period of time the 8 bit era was for gaming. Such classics as Super Mario Bros, The Last Ninja and even Pong paved the way for things to come, and ensured a bright future in video games. And then, my friends, are the imitators. Games that take the safe route, copying an already good idea and trying to ride of it’s success. Back in the late eighties, The Great Giana Sisters was one of these games, a carbon copy of the hugely popular Super Mario games. There’s nothing wrong with that all, and however dated the game may seem, it’s a fitting homage to one of the great classics in gaming history.
