I already own a curve 8300, but was able to get my hands on a curve 8310 for $50.00 (after some serious talking). I was able to clear all the old info off the phone but now with I go to use the camera it reads {Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again.} I have tried resetting the phone about 6x and still nothing. Also the Bluetooth will not start. There were old pics so I know that the camera was working and when I first got it the bluetooth was on and now it's not! I made all the settings exactly how they are on my 8300, and I'm all out of ideas, I'm open to any suggestions.............

What OS do you have on it? either way reinstall OS, upgrade it or downgrade it. It should fix it. if it doesn't then it's hardware then you're hooped

I didn't get the software for it either. But how would I reinstall the OS?

Go to blackberry.com

install Desktop Manager
after you install this
plug in your BB to your comp
go back to blackberry.com and download the OS from your provider. It should be 4.5

well i downloaded everything from the blackberry website, took about an hour just to get what i really wanted and when I was almost done I got the fatal error message with a blinking red led! According to their help and support links it means that I have no applications on the phone. I tried to follow their steps to reinstall everything again but the first thing  it does is delete the apps again? What am I doing wrong here? Is there a number that I can call to talk to someone or is there an easier way? I'm losing my patience with this phone! Had to give the wife mine since that was now hers

Have you tried wiping the handheld? It's in the security options when you press the bb key...

I figured it out. I tried wiping it out but it didn't work, had to nstall 4.5 then it went through a wiping then scrubbing process that tok about an hour then reinstalled 4.5 again then it worked. But even after all that the camera or video camera that is part of the 4.5 upgrade still doesn't work. Bluetooth doesn't either.

Hardware then

Yep, unfortunately that's what it sounds like to me. If you have wiped it and reinstalled the OS and the camera is still not working it must be a hardware issue. Have you tried a battery pull? Maybe the $50 was too much........Bummer
