If your BlackBerry smartphone has a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, complete the following steps:

1.On a map, press the [fontads]Menu[/fontads] key.
2.Click [fontads]Options.[/fontads]
3.Set the [fontads]GPS Device[/fontads] field.
4.Press the [fontads]Menu[/fontads] key.
5.Click [fontads]Save.[/fontads]
If you are using a GPS receiver enabled with Bluetooth® wireless technology to track your movement, complete the following steps:
1.Pair your BlackBerry smartphone with the GPS receiver enabled with Bluetooth wireless technology.
2.On a map, press the [fontads]Menu[/fontads] key and select [fontads]Start GPS[/fontads].
To stop tracking your movement, press the [fontads]Menu[/fontads] key and select [fontads]Stop GPS.[/fontads]

Unless you have a Verizon 8830, then they've disable GPS, so that they can sell you their VX Navigator product.  However, the latest version of Google Maps latest version has somehow figured out how to access the GPS device.  To download, go to: http://google.com/gmm from your blackberry's web browser.

Btw Goggle map use also the GPS feature but also the transmit tower of your cellular to locate you and is approx where you are on the map you could be around 1 to 75 mile of the point's is show. If you have the GPS your location is more accurate..
