A Chicago-based technology start-up launched new software Monday that allows mobile workers to tune in to corporate podcasts and conferences using their BlackBerry smart phones.
LiquidTalk’s product makes audio-visual business content available on mobile devices. The company has signed an agreement with BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion Ltd. to get marketing and developer support from the smart phone-maker.
LiquidTalk users access a Web-based portal that organizes content in a personalized playlist format, similar to what consumers have for their digital music and videos. With the RIM agreement, LiquidTalk software will be integrated into BlackBerries that are enabled for multimedia. These devices include the 8800 series, Pearl and Curve.
“Mobile multimedia in the enterprise continues to increase in popularity,” Tyler Lessard, RIM’s director of independent software vendor alliances, said in a statement. “We are seeing a number of applications come to the BlackBerry platform that will allow mobile professionals to incorporate multimedia features into their corporate lifestyle.”
