Enable Legacy SB Restore mode

Go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book

hold ALT and press S B E B

you will see the message Legacy SB Restore Enable.

After that you can free to backup/Restore Service Book on your BlackBerry.

Thank CảnhSát113@tinhte.com for this infomation.

How to Backup/Restore Service Book?
Open BDM (I am using BDM 4.6 but some older versions have the same functions)
Select Backup and Restore, you will see main options, as follows:

Select Advanced
In Advanced option, you can choose Database to Backup or Restore
Select Service Book

Open backup file (.ipd) [INCLUDED BELOW] containing SB to load into BlackBerry
Then select Service Book at the left colum

After restoration of Service Book, you need to make sure Service Book is on your phone. You can check it in Options > Advanced Options > Service book. If not, follow all above steps again.

Next step is that you need tcp configurations in Options > Advanced Options > TCP

The information entered here depends on your carrier. You can find this information elsewhere on this forum. If you need help, specify your carrier in reply and I'll try to find it and post for you.

Tips

If you see the Browser icon, You have Service Book on your phone. But the Browser doen't work.
Go to Options > Advanced Options > Browser
Click Track Wheel (or Track Ball) and Save (you dont have to change anything but just Save)
Then back to Home and try Browser again. with some lucky it will work
If your BlackBerry have IT-Policy. Try to remove IT-Policy first and then Enable Browser
Search Google "How to Remove BlackBerry IT-Policy"
Sometime, You can't Enable the Browser. Just Reinstall BlackBerry OS (Upgrade or DownGrade) then Enable Browser it will Work for you.

THIS WORKED FOR ME USING 8310 WITH AT&T. FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS AND YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM.

thanks for the article, i tried it but it doesnt work,
there is nothing changed, i dont have any data plan and i would like to use applications thqt require data plan with only wi-fy.

and i want to know the difference between the two files : Browser_via_TCP_all_network_beta_V1.1
and Wifi_Gprs ?
Author: huiman1    Time: 11-8-2009 03:19 PM

the first file is if you have a nonblackberry data plan. the second is to use wifi for internet without having to go through your carrier. i am not very familiar with this second one as my bb doesn't support wifi. maybe someone else here can explain....
i know it works from seeing comments by others.

Also.. the soln works only with GSM BB
I tried on 8830 but failed to makethe Browser work in CDMA even though I had a non-BB data plan active on my ESN
So if anyone could do itwith any SB, pl share teh soln
Thanks

You can browse with Wi-Fi connection using opera mini's browser.  Go to settings, check the Wi-Fi button and save it.

I just did this for a sprint 8330 curve and it worked perfectly.

Took me all of 3 minutes.

edit:

I could not get the alt SBEB to work so i pressed alt-s alt-b alt-e alt-b

Pressing alt then each letter for all four letters worked

Thanks, you are a GENIUS!! I have a Sprint BB and an unlimited plan that includes unl. Data, but that's regular data, not the BB data package. But following your instructions, I now have a working browser! Awesomeness!

One question though, is there any way to enable bbm and or the email push. I would really like to receive the email directly to the bb. Thanks for all your help!! You Rock!

i can't guarantee the provider won't find out but i've been using this for months now. it won't activate bbm or email but you can use shangmail with it which will integrate completely with the blackberry. pin messaging is also not possible afaik.

I know this post is old but it helped me so much.  I bought my phone online, and i could not get on the browser, and the icon wouldn't show up no matter how many resets i did, even though i have the data plan.  Tech support couldn't figure it out.  This worked like a charm.  Thanks.

remember you will still be charged for data; this basically allows you to use all bb programs with a standard data plan so i'd recommend getting the unlimited plan for regular phones (att charges $10 as opposed to $30 for bb)

I have tried doing a full reset on my 9700 and without data plan , I still can't seem to get online ..
But on my older nokia phones seems to get online perfectly fine.
By the way , is there to increase file size upload on msn on side note ?
