Help!!

I ve got a problem! I live in qatar and i use Qtel (Qatar Telecomunications) and i have no idea what the APN is!!! does this mean that i cannot allow internet access to my 3rd party apps??

Access instant messaging without BIS or BES

Hi friend !! Just without this BIS or BES can I instantly chat in gtalk, yahoo chat, etc.. Coz, those blackberry packs r too expensive.. So is there any 3rd party application for instant messaging. If it is, where can I download it n how do I install it.. If it so, it wud b really helpful...thanks in advance.
